Monday we unveiled our updated bedroom with a new pop color, Kermit Green.
And you may have noticed the new artwork above the bed. Let’s take a closer look.
Oops! Forgot I wrapped it! As it had sentimental meaning, I actually made it specifically for Bill for Valentine’s day. Let’s let him open it first.
There, that’s better.
Some of you may recognize the idea from a fellow blogger. Well, After seeing Amanda’s (Our Humble Abode) handy little Venn-diagram tissue paper project, I was immediately inspired. I mean look how cute her project came out!

But I neither had the tissue paper nor the patience to cut letters out. And lacking a fancy cutter, I decided that turning to my computer would be easier.
This also allowed me to use the very Ampersand that I distorted for our blog’s header in the center of the image. And though it is a bit hard to read, I also added ‘Established November 13th 2011’ to the bottom. Sent it off to Fedex/Kinkos and was all set.
Trouble was, we started dating in 2010. Not 2011. Do’oh! A quick fix and return for a new print and I popped it into the frame.
The good news is, if you’re not savvy with Photoshop, Amanda sells custom prints based on her original design in her store. Check ’em out!
So now not only do we have some more substantial drapes to anchor things, but we also have some custom artwork. And to really tie things in (and because I didn’t know what else to frame just yet) I popped a pair of paint chips from Behr that matched the green in the lamp and the blue in the bedding.
And now the room feels so much taller and bigger! And much cheerier too!
So what sort of love-inspired projects have you been working on?
