This past weekend was a rare one for me. I didn’t have to be driving anywhere! Instead of heading to Pittsburgh and Bill, or back to Philly to see my parents and childhood dear friends, or even just driving into the office for catch up work, I had no obligations of driving. Needless to say, I was a little excited about that.
Like you saw earlier this week, I did a little shopping with my free time to treat myself to a new vase and cherry blossoms to cheer up the place here in DC.
Wile the only purchases I made were blog related (with a few little green surprises to share later…) I did do some exploring in World Market. The only one in the area is still a pretty decent drive away and they don’t seem to exist in the Pittsburgh area, so it’s always a treat to wander around and see what they have to offer.
This grey beauty was just inside the door and I most def pet it, a lot. It was a soft gray velvet that I wanted to take home with me, but there’s just no place for it.
Yes, those are rubber duckies. GIANT rubber duckies. ….Ok, maybe not realllly giant, but easily the size of a medium dog. The perfect companion for bath time.
World Market is always a good stop for vintage looking signs if you’re not down with DIYing your own, and this cut out of the USA was calling to me. Imagine a big, bright, airy loft with exposed brick. A charcoal couch and this on the brick above it? A crazy navy blue chevron rug on the floor……
Speaking of chevron, this hand-woven bowl had a neat hint of the popular pattern without being overwhelming. They had all kinds of colors and styles. You could use them for the obvious purpose and put things in one, OR you could hang them on the wall and create a worldly take on the plate wall look.
I am a total sucker for Giraffes. TOTAL. SUCKER. So when I saw this guy I had to keep reminding myself I was justwindowshoppingjustwindowshoppingjustwindowshopping – just to keep from buying it with absolutely no place or need for it.
And of course I was drawn to these punchy colored chevron coasters. Which reminds me, I have some coasters to make…
Well those were my favorite finds at World Market. Have you ever explored their store? They have frequent wine tastings on Saturdays….not that you really need motivation to go shopping!
