Decor, Our Story

Parisian Perusing

All this week we’re sharing inspiring decor from Europe because, well, after MONTHS of planning I am FINALLY there!  By now I’m likely ogling the designer labels through shop windows while filling an entire memory card with pictures of the Eiffel tower alone.

Speaking of, this iconic Parisian landmark is quite the point of inspiration in home decor.

We’ve all seen the chalkboard wall craze. It’s taken over blogland for sure. And the beauty of it is the constantly changing art that you can create with it. But the impact of a clean board displaying the Eiffel tower? It really adds some fantastic depth to the room, no?

Michael created this beautiful (uhhmm, it’s teal. I was sold at teal. *drools*) wooden piece of art by distressing and layering in the image of the Eiffel Tower. The distressing really makes it! And it could be used in a country kitchen, or a much more sophisticated haute space too. So versatile!

I saved this one for last because it’s my FAVORITE. Ok, ok, silhouettes of the Eiffel Tower are nothing new… but the dusty, aged look of the image and the fact that it’s an in-progress image make it just fit in the space so much better.  And to be able to compare the structure of the Tower with the view out the window of Seattle’s iconic Space Needle is really cool.

Hope you are enjoying your week!
