Pssst – so, a combination of an overwhelming amount of photos, wanting to take some time off to just be in eachother’s presence after a paticularly long time apart from Bill, and then a pretty bad bout of food poisoning on Sunday/Monday has left things pretty quiet here on the blog and wayyyy delayed. So sorry about that, but expect double time for the next few days!
It occurred to me that when I started sharing the adventures I’ve had on my trip to England and France I mentioned a few times that I checked things off my list…. but I never officially shared the ‘checklist’ of things I had hoped to see or do.

In an effort to preserve some semblance of sanity before the trip and to prevent getting my hopes up too high and setting myself up for disappointment, I trended towards keeping my list short and sweet.
I don’t know about you, but the week leading into a big trip I am an embarrassingly-nervous wreck. I write checklists of things to pack, check things off that list, then write a list of the things I did pack to compare to the first list. I made poor Bill sit through over 2 hours of ‘what about this outfit? Should I pack this?!’ before I settled on a simple mix-and matchable wardrobe for the trip. It’s nuts, well, no, I’m nuts. So researching things that I wanted to see and do beyond ‘fly to England’ was just beyond my thought process at the time.

But to be honest, it worked out for the best, and now I have a new mental list of things to see WHEN I go back. (Saying WHEN means it will actually happen again, right?)
So without further ado, here was my list of things I would like to see or do for this trip (complete with links to the related posts, as they are posted):
ENGLAND:
- Fish And Chips
- A pint in a pub
- Stonehenge
- A Castle
- Red Phone-booth
- London Bridge (HAH. or TOWER Bridge. See post to understand why the edit!)
- Red double-decker bus (ride one too? Opps)
- Ride the London Eye
- Big Ben (And, ya know, the House of Parliament too. Kinda a package deal.)
- Tower of London
- take gratuitous amounts of self portraits
- Corgis. Lots and LOTS of corgis.
- Westminster Abbey
PARIS:
- Eiffel Tower
- Notre Dam
- Crepes. LOTS of Crepes.
- Macarons
- People watch from a cafe
- Escargot? Foie Gras? Steak Tartar? Something gross that I wouldn’t ordinarily eat. But not all three.
- Louvre Museum. At night?
- Champs-Élysées
- Wear a beret
- Arc de Triomphe
- Croque-monsieur
- Napolean? He’s gotta be around there somewhere.
- Remember some of my highschool French!
What’s wonderful about these lists? I managed to completely check them off! Stay tuned this week for more on the adventure – plus some Home decor shopping in England, and even some decor inspiration too!
