Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post, after spending the day at Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral, we came back to Brynn & Gary’s and had a sunset adventure.
Ya know what’s weird for an East-coaster to see? The sun setting over the ocean. Weirder still is when you’re not in California or the Outer Banks to see it! (Ok, it sets over the sound in OBX, but close ‘nough.)
Brynn and Gary live in southern England near a town called Poole. My beach-loving heart just had to see what ‘the shore’ looked like in England, so Molly and I ventured down to see for ourselves.
The shore was sandy in some parts, but had a good base of stones to it too. And if you look closely….
…you’ll see that the beach was also full of SEA-GLASS! People pay MONEY for this, but it was all around, naturally being worn by the waves.
I FILLED my jacket pocket with pieces of all shapes and colors. I couldn’t have asked for a better souvenir!
So after our seaside adventure we headed to a home-cooked Curry dinner (mmmmmmm!) before bed. Not a bad end to our first full day in England!
