Remember that time I showed you the cool little flower still life we scored at the ReStore?
Yeahhh… that was February. Nearly a year ago. And where has this cute little frame been? Sitting behind my purse on our console table, waiting to be hung on the wall.
Then we had formal plans for our first visitors, when this happened:
What did visitors mean? OHCRAPLASTMINUTEPROJECTTIME!
That’s why this happened. Poor lighting? Check. Grainy cell phone photo? Check. All the hallmarks of a last-minute project that’s been sitting there just waiting to be finished, but never happening because, well, sometimes motivation is an elusive biotch. But then you have friends coming to see you and things left un-done are just not cute, so I whipped out the command strips and eye-balled it and made it happen.
The round tray was another Re-Store score for .99 cents. Bill loved it because it has the state flower on it. I liked it because it had both Pittsburgh and Philly on it. But just hanging the flowers and the state was off-balanced in a less-than-cool kinda way. So the ampersand I also found at the re-store was added to make the off-balanced a little less so.
The wall was taking on an antique gold theme in my mind, which is why these objects ended up grouped together. It’s taking on a slight hipster vibe… which feels weird but good. Ya know?
I’m thinking it still needs something…. maybe an empty frame to put around the ampersand? To help add weight to that portion. Or maybe add a few other small frames with some personal photos too…. it’s clearly a work-in-progress.
But the good news is, it was hung up and ready to go before our guests were here.
Any projects out there that have been sitting around waiting for you lately? Or are we the only lazy bums out there? 😉
