Fall is Here!

The weather has finally turned, the air is crisp, and hoodie season is upon us.  I LOVE this weather!

But given that we just upgraded the tv, we decided to go simple on the fall decor, especially the budget.  So I pulled out a few items from last year and picked up a bag of mini pumpkins at Wal-Mart for $2 and got to work.

fall 2012 burlap and foliage Wreath @ BandBBuildALife.comYou should remember this little guy from last Fall.  An old grape-vine wreath I whipped up.  I popped her back up on the door to greet our visitors.

As for the rest of the room, I pulled out the left-over leaves from the wreath project and scattered them about the place.  My favorite home for them was on our ribba ledges, nestled with the mini pumpkins I bought.

The votive holders were a trio of mercury glass I picked up at Target after Christmas for 37 cents each on clearance.  Just haven’t had the chance to use them yet!

And down there on the left you can see our ceramic friend Freddy Fox has joined in on the fun!

But of course we couldn’t let Freddy have all the fun.  Down on the coffee table, Wallie the Squirrel is guarding the acorns.

The acorns were from the dollar spot at Target while the candle is an Ikea find.

And what’s that behind Wallie?  …

That’s the gold cloche I made last Christmas.  And beneath it, a pair of faux pumpkins.  One, a plush score at a thrift store, the smaller is the pumpkin topper from a bottle of pumpkin juice I got in Harry Potter World at Universal.  The grape vine pumpkin was a dollar spot find last fall, and the larger rag pumpkin in the back was also a thrift store find, set atop one of the glass pottery barn pillars I shared before.

So there ya have it, some simple seasonal sprucing that’s gone down around here.

What have you been up to?
