Ikea BYOF Adventures

For those of you who live near an Ikea, you may have taken advantage of their special Bring Your Own Friend event this past weekend. It was basically your typical Ikea trip, but with bigger crowds, free blue bags and extra staff to answer your questions. And it was awesome.

We got stuck in a traffic jam so we missed the free breakfast. Instead, our day started like this.

The real fun was had once we cleared our trays. Ikea hosted a Twitter scavenger hunt. We may have had some fun with that.

Ohhh the Hey Girl material amoung these… mwahaha!

We didn’t buy the Hemnes tv stand we always seem to drool over on every trip, but we did pick up a few little things.

In addition to the freebie blue bags, we picked up some chocolate, fabric, flowers and an LED light kit.

The green flower pot is actually from the nearby home depot. The green was picked to go with the new greener hues in our bedroom. The violet was picked because the care instructions said not direct light, and allow to completely dry between waterings. Which is exactly Bill’s style of plant care. This little violet should fit right in!

The fabric (not shown, oops!) and light kit we have plans for. We’ll actually share the light kit details on Friday, but for now I’ll leave you with my favorite snapshot from the shenanigans of our trip.
