What’s in My Beach Bag

Bill & I are off to our favorite place in the world, the Outer Banks, for a week of R&R before the real world hits me in the face again. So I figured what better way to kick off the week than to share with you what's in my beach bag. Coach Canvas Beach Shell… Continue reading What’s in My Beach Bag

A Quick and Easy Bathroom Shelf

So it's obvious by our new summer pillows that we made a recent trip to Ikea.  And though we still haven't finally bought ourselves a new purdy Hemnes tv stand, we did also pick up a new shelf for our bathroom. Specifically, we picked up the Grundtal glass shelf for the job.  I'll pause while… Continue reading A Quick and Easy Bathroom Shelf

So Fresh and So Clean ~ Inexpensive Art

We've not had an entry in our Inexpensive Art series in a bit, but I am just so smitten with this adorable printable I came across via Pinterest that I had to share! Right now we only have our 'B Loves B' art on the wall in the bathroom. I knew I wanted to add… Continue reading So Fresh and So Clean ~ Inexpensive Art

Summer Lounging

Ok, so all the blogosphere is sharing their beautiful patios and outdoor living rooms with their awesome DIY tables and other furniture (check out Michelle's table that she got her husband Nate to build, awesome!  Or this sad cast-off table that Greg and Ashley rescued from the curb-side and finished!) These projects first make me… Continue reading Summer Lounging

HOT COCOA Banana Muffins

So I was walking around Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh and fighting my usual produce section ADD when I came across a display of sad, bruised bananas.  That were drastically reduced because, well, who wants ugly bananas?  Well, apparently I did.  I gave a home to a bag of them and discovered that there was a… Continue reading HOT COCOA Banana Muffins

When I originally bought the kit it came with these handy seed placement guides so you were easily able to space the seeds just right. Those guides are long gone, but it's simple enough to fillow the directions on the package of seeds you've purchased.

Windowsil Herb Garden

Last year I picked up a cute little set of pots and seeds from Joss & Main that grew pretty well.  It came with Cilantro (my fav summer herb!), basil and thyme.  But of the three, we never had time for thyme, so it basically grew to a crazy mess and then died.  We did… Continue reading Windowsil Herb Garden

Babyshower in a Box

If you've followed along to my recent adventures to London and Paris, you may remember how the primary purpose of the visit was to see my friend Brynn & her husband as they are expecting their first baby in July.  Of course, throwing a baby-shower from a continent away is a bit tricky, so my… Continue reading Babyshower in a Box

A Little Bedroom Evolution

So today I was reading through one of my favorite blogs, Sew Woodsy, about their hysterical search for ticks, and the crash of their headboard.  (Seriously, stop over and give it a read.  Too funny!)  I sent them a link to our own headboard project to illustrate how we hung our headboard as ours is… Continue reading A Little Bedroom Evolution

New Dishes!

A few weeks ago, my parents came for their first visit to Pittsburgh.  Bill got to play tour guide, and we enjoyed their company and had a nice dinner at the apartment.... over the live news feed of the Boston Bomber man hunt as it unfolded.  We also introduced my parents to the crazy world… Continue reading New Dishes!

Easy Houseplant Care

I've shared before how I'm fond of keeping some happy green plants around.  They help cheer up a room, and the additional fresh oxygen they put off isn't a bad side effect either. But they don;t stay happy green plants without a little TLC once in a while.  Fortunately it's super easy to keep them… Continue reading Easy Houseplant Care

Taking Palmolive® Soft Touch to Task

So there's a little thing that happens when you travel - whether it be abroad on vacation or just back and forth like I do to Pittsburgh from DC - my home tends to get pretty messy.  Unpacking sometimes doesn't quite get the chance to finish before the next trip. Sometimes I just don't have… Continue reading Taking Palmolive® Soft Touch to Task

A ‘Shop From What You Have’ Wreath – White-washed for Summer!

I'm going to apologize as I do not have any in-process or tutorial type pictures of this one.  We needed a wreath, but I didn't really have any spare change to get a form and fancy ribbons etc etc.  Then, inspiration struck late one evening when it seems my Aunt was sleepless as well. So… Continue reading A ‘Shop From What You Have’ Wreath – White-washed for Summer!

Hey girl. May 2013 in Review

May was a busy month, which sadly meant we didn't get nearly as many projects completed as I'd have liked.  And there were no pictures of Bill to turn into a funny hey girl like this one from February.... Or these original ones from January. So for the most part May's recap is a rundown… Continue reading Hey girl. May 2013 in Review
